Volunteer Opportunities

Every year hundreds of volunteers lend Parkinson Association of Alberta their greatest gifts of time, talent and resources to help us ensure that no Albertan has to face Parkinson disease (PD) alone.  Our volunteers are clients and their families, students, retirees, individuals and companies who believe that together we can make a difference in the lives of those facing PD.

Our current volunteer opportunities are listed below in chronological order.  Unless otherwise indicated, please contact 403-243-9901 for more information.  To fill out an online volunteer form CLICK HERE!

  Petals for Parkinson's Volunteers Needed

We're looking for volunteers to help sell poinsettias in Calgary as part of the Petals for Parkinson's campaign. The dates are November 27 to December 7 at various locations in downtown Calgary.

Petals for Parkinson's is an important fundraiser for Parkinson Association of Alberta and we appreciate help with this.

Please e-mail paldred@parkinsonalberta.ca to volunteer.

 Part-Time Office Volunteer Needed

Are you looking to get more involved with your local community?

Do you enjoy working with great people?

Do you have a few hours each week you can spend making a positive difference?

If this sounds like you, Parkinson Association of Alberta needs you!

Parkinson Association of Alberta is the voice of Albertans and their families living with Parkinson disease. Our purpose is to ease the burden through advocacy, education, client services and to find a cure through research.

Our Calgary office has openings, throughout the week, in the capacity of front reception.

Duties include greeting visitors, answering phone calls and registering clients in programs. The office is open from 8:30am-4:30pm, Monday to Friday (with the exception of statutory holidays) and the volunteer shifts are in 2 and 4 hour increments.

If you are interested in the rewarding position, please email info@parkinsonalberta.ca or call Lori at 403-243-9901.

  Faces of Parkinson's

All Parkinson Association of Alberta clients have Parkinson disease (PD) in common (whether it is themselves or a loved one), but each individual's experience and story is unique to them.  Faces of Parkinson's is an opportunity for you to tell your story in your own way -- it can be in the form of a story, poem, video or photo collage.  If you are interested in sharing your journey, please contact Brandi via email or speak with your Regional Client Services Coordinator

  Casino Volunteers

We're looking for volunteers to fill key positions at our fundraising casino on February 8 and 9. The location is Deerfoot Inn & Casino, 11500 35 St SE.

Casinos are important fundraisers for Parkinson Association of Alberta and we appreciate help with this. All volunteers will receive a meal and the comaraderie of working with like-minded people.

Please e-mail kvonhansen@parkinsonalberta.ca
